Gingerbread

 

  • 500 g spelt flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp cocoa powder
  • 6 tsp gingerbread spices
  • 120 g butter, room temperature
  • 1 egg
  • 120 g corn sugar
  • 200 ml rice syrup
  1. Cream the butter and sugar together. Add the egg and the rice syrup
  2. Mix the flour, baking powder, salt, cocoa powder and gingerbread spices together
  3. Add the flour mix to the sugar mix. Combine together
  4. Wrap the dough in foil and place in the fridge for at least an hour. Better over night
  5. Take the dough out of the fridge and roll out between 2 pieces of greaseproof paper, approx. 0.5 cm thick
  6. Using biscuit cutters, make the dough into the shapes that you wish
  7. Bake in the oven by 180 degrees for approx. 10-12 minutes
  8. Leave to cool completely and decorate as wished
