Oat bars

 

For 6-10 Bars

 

100 g rolled oats (gf)

50 g ground almonds

1 tbsp sesame seeds or chopped almonds

1 tbsp flax seeds

2 tbsp desiccated coconut

100 g rice syrup

1 1bsp sunflower oil

 

  1. Pre-heat the oven to 180 degrees
  2. Combine all dry ingredients in a bowl
  3. Slowly warm the rice syrup and oil in a pan. Do not cook
  4. Remove the pan from the heat
  5. Add the dry ingredients to the rice syrup. Mix well
  6. Place the mixture on to a baking tray, lined with baking paper (or use a muesli bar form)
  7. With damp hands press the mixture to a firm square or divide in a bar form
  8. Place in the oven for approx. 15 minutes, bake until golden Brown
  9. Take out of the oven and leave to slightly cool
  10. While still warm, carefully cut into 10 bars (not necessary when a form is used)
  11. Leave to cool completely
  12. Store in an airtight tin
